Vacation| Part 5| 11/6

Welcome to Part 5! Aka, the end of this series of posts.

This one is pretty short, seeing as though it was Sunday on 11/6. And on Sunday…there are much more important things than documenting the day using photography.

“Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us fear lest any of you should seem to have failed to reach it. For good news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened. For we who have believed enter that rest, as he has said,

“As I swore in my wrath,
‘They shall not enter my rest,’”

although his works were finished from the foundation of the world. For he has somewhere spoken of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all his works.” And again in this passage he said,

“They shall not enter my rest.”

Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience, again he appoints a certain day, “Today,” saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted,

“Today, if you hear his voice,
do not harden your hearts.”

For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken of another day later on. So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.”

~Hebrews 4:1-10

“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.”

~Exodus 20:8

But that said…I did trek out early in the morning to take photos of the beautiful view across Boone Lake. This won’t be new for you if you’ve seen Lucillian Photography’s Boone Lake post.

This is the same panorama on Lucillian Photography, only I put a black and white filter on it specially for The Misty Mountain.  🙂
And this exact one is on Lucillian Photography…

We saw this sunset while we were on our way to visit a church in Knoxville to worship for their evening service. Unfortunately…uh-hem. It got really blurry, because we were in the car and moving pretty fast. 🙂

11/2- Matt, Jess, Emma, Josiah, Ellie, & Nathanael arrive in Bristol.

11/3- Baked Confetti b-day cake, went to the skating rink (no photos from that 😦 ).  9:30 PM Benjamin R., Caleb and Hannah Figura arrive.

11/4- State Street exploring.

11/5- Saturday. Hiking at Steele Creek Park. Benjamin ‘injured’. Prep for departure.

11/6- Uncle Adam and Auntie Em take membership vows at Bridwell Heights, PCA. Cousins baptized at same church. We visit Covenant PCA in Knoxville for their evening worship service.

LATER- we arrive home. And crash (sleep 🙂 ).

Nathanael at the end of the slide at Steel Creek Park.
A close-up of the ‘bend’ in the bar that Benjamin fell on. 🙂
Josiah in front of the old episcopal church’s door.
Flags waving in the breeze at the park on State Street.
My delicious lunch on Friday 🙂 Think nachos and chicken added to it with CHEESE.
And finally–this guy again. Forgive the random arm. I think Benjamin was pretending to play along with the ‘guitarist’ 🙂 .

And that was our vacation.
