Travel 10/5 | Part 4| Disc Golfing

Here I am for part four, which I’ve been eagerly waiting to show you. πŸ˜€

On 10/5, we decided to go disc golfing with our cousins—which had it successes and failures. I took a lot of cool pictures, but we all stunk at disc golf. πŸ˜‰ Plus, their were some not-so-good attitudes along the way. But you know what? It was nice to just spend time with the family, and worth any of the minuses we might have experienced!

The day started off with me doing silhouettes with the earlier-morning light. I will warn you though that I didn’t actually camera document all of the day, as I did other things that aren’t pictured. πŸ˜€

Earlier in the Day

After that breakfast hour we just did the normal things that people do on vacation… {eat, sleep, relax, read, talk…}
Then it was time for lunch, which was left-over lasagna from the night before. I honestly don’t see why some people complain about leftovers. This picture should prove that leftovers can still be amazing. πŸ˜‰
This food picture and the one above (the geraniums) are courtesy of my kit lens. I love this food picture and I love the fall look to it. {anyone else see the fall decoration in the back?} πŸ˜›
And now skipping to the main attraction of the day πŸ˜† …

Disc Golfing

Here’s a pre-disc golfing selfie to prove that I do actually exist in this family vacation. πŸ˜›

When we’d arrived it took us a while to locate any of the disc golfing places at the park. And when we’d finally found one it wasn’t the starting one. But, we being beginners anyway just decided to do the last few holes. And trust me, we more than had our hands full getting through the last few holes and back to the car before the sun started setting. πŸ˜€

Here’s Hannah and I. This was when we were trying to locate the hole.

And now onto the bulk of the photos…

My set of discs {they look like Frisbees to me} was marked as number four. Yes, I played AND took pictures. I was quite the sight {as per usual}.

After a while, I sort of gave up on double duty. My arm started hurting from throwing Frisbees/ walking/ running/ screaming πŸ˜† / holding my camera bag and taking pictures. So I just fell behind and took nature-y pics.

I was a little obsessed taking pictures of all the leaves on the ground {even though they were sort of all brown}.
Me: “Loooooook guys!!! It’s a fall colored treeee!”
Them: *silence as they walk away thinking I’m crazy.

We arrived at the last one after all that and realized we were going to have to go for a further hike to get back to the car because {surprise, surprise} we’d walked a little far. It wasn’t so bad. All the kids were just a little tired. So was I πŸ˜€ .

Hey, at least the views were pretty! It was the golden hour walking back so I wasn’t really complaining.

And then we got back to the car, almost ran into a skunk {we smelled it. It must’ve gotten some other poor victim πŸ˜† }, and went home.
Now instead of ending post with a sunset {I forgot to take one}, I’m going to end it with a nightscape. I did it at like 10:00, and it was so nice and cool outside on the porch while me, my camera, and my tripod just chilled. It was nice. A little wind blowing, listening to my shutter process the 30″ exposure.

  1. Ooooh, lovely photos! Hmm, I’ve never done disc golf but it looks neat! (Also random fact: Your blue eyes are so pretty. πŸ™‚ ) I love all the fall/golden hour pictures, especially the last one with the backlighting! Also I love the last two night photos as well. πŸ™‚ Now I want to experiment with that again…

    1. Thanks, Allison! Night photos were a lot of fun for me on that particular night. It’s actually sort of neat when you have lights and you use a long exposure. The lights look like stars (if the aperture is f/8 it seems to work better.). πŸ˜€

  2. The first picture is neat- so is the bokeh picture of the yellow tree. πŸ™‚
Oh yea, leftovers are great! Well, depending on what it is. πŸ˜‰
Night photos! I have some I took not too long ago that I haven’t posted yet.

    1. Thank you, Natasha! Good point about the leftovers. I am much more enthusiastic about leftovers when it’s lasagna vs stir fry for instance. πŸ˜‰ You should post them! I look forward to it πŸ˜‰ .
