Photography Spotlight…|Q.L.P

This is a Quick Lil’ Post I have planned on doing for a little while. I am going to ‘spotlight’ some of my favoritest role-model photographers and also introduce you to some less-known photographers who are emerging and well-worth your follow.

So let’s get this thing on the road.

πŸ˜‰ My Role Models πŸ˜‰

  1. Sonja Adcock Photography.Β Sonja is a photographer based in Pennsylvania. I love her work and especially how she uses light. Her style is soft and she specializes in artistic child photography. You can check her out here.

  2. Β Photography by Britton. I probably should’ve mentioned these guys first! They are almost 100% my biggest photography role models. They’re a husband and wife photography team (I’m a big fan of that πŸ˜€ ) and they travel all over the place to photograph people. They specialize in (pretty much everything) weddings. Their official website can be found here.Β

  3. Brittany Elise Photography. Brittany has a very unique style. I love the type of softness her portraits demonstrate. They really are very unique and I think you should check her out. She’s based in Tampa Florida, and specializes in newborn. Check out her website here.Β

  4. Madison Photography. This is another big favorite of mine. I just love how colorful Madison’s images are. They’re so so pretty. I follow her on Instagram and lemme tell ya’–her stuff brightens my feed. Madison’s style is ‘creative, bright, colorful, sharp and airy’. Go check her out here.Β

And that will have to wrap this part up for now. There are so many others I could’ve spotlighted but this will have to do it for now. I know these photographers will get you motivated to keep being a photographer or at least to enjoy looking at other people’s photography. πŸ˜‰

❀ Lesser-Known Photographers ❀

This section hasn’t got very many in it as I only put people down if I really love their work and respect them. Truth is, there are a lot of lesser-known photographers out there. When I day lesser known I really just mean emerging, newer, or not started a business yet. So here’s my list.

  1. Sarah Leana Photography. I will be spotlighting her again just as soon as her official website is up but for now I’ll just direct you to her blog. It’s a newer blog but just so you know she’s amazing! Sarah has been a best friend of mine and my family’s for a very long time. She specializes in senior portraits (she took mine if you were wondering). Go and give her a follow! (Her family is going through tough times right now which I highlighted in this post.) Her style is classic, and you can go check out the rest here.Β

  2. Natasha Ann Photography. Natasha is a photographer I found online maybe two or three years ago (I am awful at time, it might have been more recently πŸ˜‰ ) . I found her through her sister’s blog–but I love her blog! She has a really neat natural style. another thing about her style is that she doesn’t edit much. It’s an unusual thing to see but her quality shines through! You should follow her. She has two blogs–one for everything and the other more specifically for photography.

And that is literally it! I told ya’ I didn’t put very many down. πŸ™‚ There are others but I am not currently following very many yet (I have to find them first!).

Etsy Shop| An Update

Hello!

I promised to post updates, didn’t I? Well, I did…and so I’m here! Just to touch base a little with y’all,–the past two months have been spent busily- and (I HOPE πŸ™‚ ) productively. I spent them brainstorming and experimenting various product ideas. As a result, today I have pictures to share! YAY.

Note: the pictures I’m sharing are not complete projects. They are still in progress. Here’s a mini list of what I’m about to share:

  1. An earring. (from the jewelry department)
  2. A headband. (from the headwear department)

Yep, it’s not much. But it’s what I’ve got for now…*smile*.

There are many imperfections in the products…I know. But this is just stage two. There won’t be these imperfections in the finished products. In the headband photos my little sister had to hold the sides of the headband so it wouldn’t fall off. That’s because I haven’t actually attached the piece that holds it on the head! But…I promised updates- and I want to give y’all a taste of the process step-by-step.

And yes, in the earring photos…there is a WIRE sticking out of the top of the earring! πŸ™‚ And NO, there will most certainly NOT be that wire in the finished product.

Sorry there isn’t more. There are more products, but they’re not quite picture worthy yet!

Thanks to my lil’ sis Ellie for sitting so patiently as I tried to figure out some of the settings on the camera.

Thanks also to my big sis Hannah, who’s graciously offered to allow me to use her camera to practice photography and take product photos. I am very grateful.

What projects are y’all working on?

Do you ever want to startΒ a business from home?

Do y’all know of any articles I could watch to improve my product photos?

My Slow Journey| To Being an Etsy Seller

The dreaded post has arrived. Dreaded for me anyhow. On my many numerous (no kidding) blogs current and extinct–I was always mentioning etsy. Or rather, being an etsy SELLER.Β  I have always considered etsy as being a great place for creativity people to get the word out about their products. Over the years I have done several posts on the fact that I planned to sell on etsy. There are several old posts on another blog somewhere which have pictures of ideas for products. Needless to say, 1 year later–my ideas have changed. Today, I’m just basically going to bring you up to date with my current plans so you can stay tuned.

First of all, what was I going to be selling?

For those of you who’ve seen my original posts on etsy selling- you know that my very first idea(s) was/were pretty much this:

  1. Knitted nut pattern dishcloths.
  2. Polka dotted hand crafted cards and stationary.
  3. Occasionally–beaded bracelets.
  4. Etc. (I know, SO helpful–but seriously everything else fitted into this category!)

Yeah…my ideas aren’t quite the same anymore. Now I am considering a variety of other things. I have put on my creative thinking hat and decided I want my shop to be the very best it can be. And that means–not just quality (although yes, I need that!), but cute, original, (as original as I can be πŸ™‚ ) and new-ish.

Secondly, what am I going to be selling?

  1. Headbands (I won’t spoil the specifics yet).
  2. Jewelry (more creative types–again, me no tell yet).
  3. Handmade stationary & cards.
  4. Hand-drawn frame art.
  5. Etc./Everything else.Β  (I do that in the new me still–some things never change!)

What is the history of my etsy shop?

Me in 2014: SoCraftyandFun opens for business.

Me in 2015: Shop still existent but closed due to its slacker owner πŸ™‚ .

Me in 2016: “Well, I have a whole lot more ideas and much more to offer now. Maybe I should start back up?”…WELL…| Emmaline decides to name her shop CrystalceStudio (Crystal Ice Studio, but the ‘i’ in ‘ice’ is chopped off in her shop name.).

Why CrystalceStudio/ Crystal Ice Studio?

There’s actually a story behind the name. I just recently moved–and my parents have given me a tiny little room to use as my studio. I knew I wanted it to be called a studio instead of just plain old office. But anyway…I began doing EVERYTHING in my studio. I knew I needed a name for my studio. Then, it happened. I decided to create an instagram (which, BTW, I haven’t even used yet.)–and I named it Crystal_Ice_Studio (I think?). Two months later, here’s my new etsy shop name.

Will you update us when you ACTUALLY open your shop?

Yep. I’ll probably have a huge ‘open for business’ post with links to all my products and my sh πŸ™‚ p. I’ll be way too excited to forget to tell you when I’m open. So don’t worry–I’ll keep y’all posted.
