Travel 10/7-8 | Parts 6 & 7 | The End

Oh wow!

I just realized that it’s been exactly a week since my last post on here. πŸ˜€ I think it’s time to finish this vacation series at long last. As promised, I’ll just lump all the rest of the photos into one post. We’ll categorize it as Saturday and Sunday.

Travel 10/6 | Part 5 | Old Friends

Hello!

As you can see, I have spaced part five as well. I just decided I didn’t want to post every day–and while these posts would’ve been done quicker…I would rather pace them. πŸ˜€ But this is part five, which mostly just has pictures that I took of my friends and sister–and myself when I used the tripod and timer. Part 6 will have two days shoved into one because I took so few pictures on Saturday and Sunday. So I’m going to lump them together. πŸ˜‰

Travel 10/5 | Part 4| Disc Golfing

Heyyyaaahhh!

Here I am for part four, which I’ve been eagerly waiting to show you. πŸ˜€

On 10/5, we decided to go disc golfing with our cousins—which had it successes and failures. I took a lot of cool pictures, but we all stunk at disc golf. πŸ˜‰ Plus, their were some not-so-good attitudes along the way. But you know what? It was nice to just spend time with the family, and worth any of the minuses we might have experienced!

The day started off with me doing silhouettes with the earlier-morning light. I will warn you though that I didn’t actually camera document all of the day, as I did other things that aren’t pictured. πŸ˜€

Travel 10/4 | Part 3 | An Early B-day

Hello, everyone.

Welcome to part three of my October 2017 vacation. I am working on catching back up with school, editing, everyday tasks, etc. So I decided to pace this series just a bit more, instead of posting a new part each day.

10/4/17- Was the day decided upon to celebrate dad and Josiah’s Oct. birthdays. It’s early as dad’s birthday is the 17th, and Josiah’s is the 24th–but our grandparents won’t be there on their birthdays so…

Travel 10/3 | Part 2 | Lazy Day

Hello again!

I am back with day two, part two of our vacation. On this particular day I was rather bored and took many random pictures–the majority of which are boring and dreadful. πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜€ So instead of sharing THOSE dreadful photos…I found 22 which I can narrate the day with.

Travel 10/2 |Part 1| Pigeon Forge

Hello guys!

I am back from my week-long vacation. It was very nice, and I was totally ready for a vacation πŸ˜‰ .

Vacation| Part 5| 11/6

Welcome to Part 5! Aka, the end of this series of posts.

This one is pretty short, seeing as though it was Sunday on 11/6. And on Sunday…there are much more important things than documenting the day using photography.

“Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us fear lest any of you should seem to have failed to reach it. For good news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened. For we who have believed enter that rest, as he has said,

β€œAs I swore in my wrath,
β€˜They shall not enter my rest,’”

although his works were finished from the foundation of the world. For he has somewhere spoken of the seventh day in this way: β€œAnd God rested on the seventh day from all his works.” And again in this passage he said,

β€œThey shall not enter my rest.”

Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience, again he appoints a certain day, β€œToday,” saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted,

β€œToday, if you hear his voice,
do not harden your hearts.”

For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken of another day later on. So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.”

~Hebrews 4:1-10

β€œRemember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.”

~Exodus 20:8

But that said…I did trek out early in the morning to take photos of the beautiful view across Boone Lake. This won’t be new for you if you’ve seen Lucillian Photography’s Boone Lake post.

This is the same panorama on Lucillian Photography, only I put a black and white filter on it specially for The Misty Mountain. Β πŸ™‚

And this exact one is on Lucillian Photography…

We saw this sunset while we were on our way to visit a church in Knoxville to worship for their evening service. Unfortunately…uh-hem. It got really blurry, because we were in the car and moving pretty fast. πŸ™‚

NOT POSTED PHOTOS + RECAP

11/2- Matt, Jess, Emma, Josiah, Ellie, & Nathanael arrive in Bristol.

11/3- Baked Confetti b-day cake, went to the skating rink (no photos from that 😦 ).  9:30 PM Benjamin R., Caleb and Hannah Figura arrive.

11/4- State Street exploring.

11/5- Saturday. Hiking at Steele Creek Park. Benjamin ‘injured’. Prep for departure.

11/6- Uncle Adam and Auntie Em take membership vows at Bridwell Heights, PCA. Cousins baptized at same church. We visit Covenant PCA in Knoxville for their evening worship service.

LATER- we arrive home. And crash (sleep πŸ™‚ ).

My delicious lunch on Friday πŸ™‚ Think nachos and chicken added to it with CHEESE.

And finally–this guy again. Forgive the random arm. I think Benjamin was pretending to play along with the ‘guitarist’ πŸ™‚ .Β

And that was our vacation.

Vacation| Part 4| 11/5

Welcome to PART FOUR!!!

I’ll just start off this post with a nice, relaxed photo of the room where a bunch of us stayed…

PB050002.JPG
And…it’s messy. But I thought it’d be fun to take a panoramic view of the room with my friend’s camera. I’ll just call it ‘mine’ in the future, okay? πŸ™‚

Then we picked up Uncle Adam and went to Steel Creek Park to do the ‘roosters front’ hike, which is just a nice, little 20 minute hike.

Benjamin, Josiah, and Ellie were playing tag. Until…
IMG_0102.JPG
…Benjamin fell on top of this bar and BENT it. He managed to injure his leg (and obviously the pole πŸ™‚ )

Hiking down the trail.
IMG_0109.JPG
Then there was this steep hill that some of us wanted to climb up while waiting for Caleb to fetch H’s water bottle.
IMG_0110.JPG
Then they all came tumbling down!
IMG_0118.JPG
Then the trail went down this steep downhill thing…and we came to a pretty lake.

The long way photo of the lake…

IMG_0125.JPG
The waterfall, and my crazy relatives crossing it. I tried, but I was wearing flip-flops which kept slipping. Not to mention I had two cameras which kept almost falling out.

The view from the top of the hill.

IMG_0132.JPG
And then we walked back to the car. And went home.

NOTE:Β It turns out I got a little confused. There will only be FIVE parts to this post series. There isn’t a part six! Sorry for the confusion. Part five will have the last few photos in it, and also a mini recap of our vacation week in it. There will also be a few photos from around the week that weren’t posted before. Thanks for bearing with me.

Vacation|Part Two| 11/3

Welcome to part two of my vacation posts!

Vacation| Part Two| 11/3Β

This post covers the happenings of day two (part two) which happened November the 3rd.

IMG_2661.JPG
Pretty much the first thing I did on 11/3 after having lunch, was to head out to snap some photos of the marigolds in our relatives’ front yard. It was a great opportunity and I love marigolds!
IMG_2679.JPG
BTW I am only posting my least favorite marigold pictures. My most favorite are getting posted on Lucillian Photography.

IMG_2680.JPG

Then right after I took those photos, our cousins Steven, Theo, and Emmett came over. They played games with my siblings…

IMG_2681.JPG

IMG_2682.JPG
N. tried to put the kiddie hoop back up, but he had trouble all by himself.
IMG_2683.JPG
So E. came to lend a helping hand…but…
IMG_2684.JPG
Sometimes, it takes more than one to get the job done πŸ™‚ !
IMG_2685.JPG
Sometimes when a set of little, determined feet get at the ball and run with it…it’s best not to try to take it. πŸ™‚
IMG_2686.JPG
See what I mean? Those little guys never give up! It’s like Smeagol with his ‘precious’… πŸ™‚ .

Later in the day I spent some time down by the lake. I enjoyed taking some photos of it…and the flowers and shells, of course.

If you click on this photo, it will send you off to the Boone Lake post on Lucillian Photography. That post contains the lake photos from several different days though. I’ll just skip to some shell/flower photos next.

IMG_2708.JPG

IMG_2710.JPG
Hand and feet prints are always something I have been rather fascinated with. I always like impressions, and things of that kind.
IMG_2714.JPG
This is just a quick photo of the lake–which I’m posting here because I decided not to post it on Lucillian Photography. I try not to reuse too many pictures.
IMG_2732.JPG
So I know that these are technically poke berries, but I prefer to call them ‘nightlock’. πŸ™‚

IMG_2728.JPG

Then apparently I went a little crazy and started taking photos of all the beautiful flowers around the property. I’m going to go easy on the pictures at this point because there’s another post on Lucillian Photography that I’m working on right now πŸ™‚ .

IMG_2739.JPG

IMG_2740.jpg
Then I grabbed J. for a few fast photos. I don’t like the angle on this one, but the background is nice.
IMG_2742.JPG
And this is just a nice natural, earthy shot. I almost wanted to plop on the ground and have a nap in the grass. Almost πŸ˜‰ .Β
IMG_2741.JPG
And this one is just funny.Β

It’s amazing how quickly the sun sets after the golden hour now. It didn’t take long at all, and you could literally watch the sun set…
