The Solar Eclipse| Photography Update

Hiyahhhhh!

Got a few things to say before I hop in.

  1. I’m out of storage on Lucillian Photography so I’ll post a few photos of my photography ON HERE on occasion.
  2. I am in a happy mood right now so I will be showing it. 😆
  3. I took a three week break where I took 0 photos. But I now am on the photo run again.
  4. I’m sorry for not being regular in my posting. School and guests have kept me busy and while I love blogging—life is my priority ❤ .

Life Right Now

We’re in December!

I am just taking a break from taking a break from blogging. Just for one blog post. This is an update on my Life Right Now.

// Christmas spirit. The tree is actually up now! We put it up shortly after thanksgiving–because that’s sort of our family tradition.

And then I have been scrambling to get my original seven gifts done (one for each member of my family) and also two extra gifts for friends. So I have only four gifts done part way, although that’s definitely a step up from zero. You can find my new Christmas photography post here. Before I get into my obsession with taking photos of bokeh lights–I’d better make a leetle announcement (for those not following Lucillian Photography).

// My new DSLR camera. That’s right! I now have something so much better than a point-and-shoot. I am so thankful for this provision. It has been so much fun already. My exact model is the Canon Eos Rebel t6.

What does it mean for this blog? Well, not too much. Although I have dwindled in drawing. I still love to draw. Wait, what does drawing have to do with photography? Um– I had to stop art class to get this camera. Yep. Who’d have thought I’d do that? But I did. And I am even glad now that I did. Pretty much all my relatives pitched in. Now it’s just up to me to pay the difference (what’s left). 🙂

I have been taking many random photos–many of which have included bokeh lights.

//Dropping stuff off at the postal office. Sounds boring, right? But this trip has been procrastinated for a few months now. I dropped off another drawing for a competition again.

//Going to a friend’s art exhibition. A friend of ours is graduating this December. He is a woodworker and has made some pretty incredible things.

Birthday Crafts

Good afternoon!

For those of you who don’t know, I used to blog at a site I named ‘Crafty and Fun’. And as you may have guessed…that ship has sailed. But my love of crafting and creativity hasn’t. And so I am pleased to share what I made just recently for my dad’s birthday. A quick introduction though: One of the gifts I made stemmed off an idea I had for my upcoming etsy shop. The idea was (in my mind) grasping at straws. But it looked something like this:

IMG_1869.JPG
A ‘survivor’ mini model bed roll, already trying to roll up. So I snapped the pic. really fast.

It literally, without any help… rolls up if there’s no pressure holding it down! It’s because of the tension on the strings.

Now, how does that relate to the gift I made dad? Well…it gave me the idea because of the twigs. Otherwise, it holds no relation to the gift for dad. But that’s how random my mind is. The slightest thing can trigger an idea (no matter how far out) in my brain. And that’s what happened here. So, I headed outside and brought in some twigs to make dad a coaster…

Brown satin ribbon made good ‘binding’ for the coaster. I filled in the cracks with hot glue…and regretted it later– because the hot glue ends up so white it shows up way too much in pictures. I am now wishing I would of had some clear glue at my disposal. Or some wood putty. 😦

And then I got sidetracked and started snapping photos of my zinnia plant that just opened up…

I told you I tend to be rather random. But now for part two of the gift. I made a card, and I also made a beaded bookmark. Sadly, I didn’t have the best beads at my disposal for this project…but I made do.

And everything else all together.

Hope y’all liked this post, as random as it was. Stay tuned for some fall pictures and also for something about a survivors shelter. “What?” you say? Better keep an eye open to see what I’m talking about. Till then, adieu!

Do you ever hand make gifts for people?

Do you like zinnias?

What are YOUR thoughts on all this fall weather? (thumbs up over here!! 🙂 )
