“It is with a heavy, heavy heart that I write to ask your fervent and continual prayers for my dear brother and friend, Lorimer Arendse, who was diagnosed 2 days ago with Stage 4 Lung Cancer that has apparently spread “all over his body”.”
~from an email
this is a post that I had planned to write a while ago. But I didn’t end up partially because I didn’t have many details–and partially because I wasn’t sure what I could possibly say. But now the way to help is made clear!
I am here today to ask all of you who might be willing to 1) pray and 2) donate.
Now if this makes zero sense, let me explain.
You know how I’ve mentioned some dear friends from Texas several times? Well, this sad news concerns them. The Arendse family have been our friends for many years and we love them dearly. Just a little while ago Lorimer Arendse (the head of the family, my bestie’s father) was diagnosed with Stage iv Lung cancer. It was completely unexpected and about as out-of-the-blue as it could get.
The news is devastating even for those that aren’t privileged to know the family. In earthly terms, this is the worst possible news that anyone can hear.
But despite this heart-breaking news, there is HOPE.
Fellow brothers and sisters in our Lord (and anyone else who may read this blog)…I urge you to consider donating and helping this dear family reach their goal. What’s the goal? $100,000. While the hospitals say there’s nothing THEY can do…their are other options.
The Arendse family is currently considering two medical options. One in California and one in Mexico. For either of these places they will need to pay out-of-pocket and as you can imagine it’s very expensive.
Would you like to help?
There are two primary things that would be much appreciated.
- Go to the Arendse’s GoFundMe page and donate!
- Pray among other things:
a. That they would be able to raise their goal on the page.
b. That the Arendse family would trust the Lord and be drawn closer together through this terrible time.
c. That the LORD would be pleased to heal Lorimer.
d. That the LORD’S name would be be praised through this.
Every little thing helps. I am so thankful that people all across the world bond together during tough times. Praise the LORD!
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO RESHARE THIS POST. IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”
